ASPEN MOMENTS · WHERE TO STAY
Where you stay decides how Aspen feels: steps from the gondola, in a Victorian landmark on Main Street, on a quiet campus in the West End, or slopeside in Snowmass. These are the hotels we'd book for a friend, in order.

Practical Tips
Book early for Christmas and New Year's, Presidents' Day week and X Games weekend in late January — the best rooms go months ahead, and minimum stays are common over the holidays.
Most downtown hotels aren't ski-in/ski-out, but the gondola is a short walk and many keep your skis at the base for you. If you want to step out the door onto the snow, look at Snowmass Base Village.
Getting here: see which airport to fly into for Aspen, or ride in from Denver with a private car from Denver to Aspen.
